Inner Animal: Fairy Wren
Ebony lives in a beautiful little corner of the world called Maitland, in NSW Australia. Over the years she has gained a Floristry trade, a Diploma of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Natural History Illustration. She's currently an Apprentice tattooer and can't wait to create beautiful illustrations on people.
What inspired you to take part in our Artist Collaboration Program?
Pela's brand and everything they stand for resonated with me so much that I knew I had to be apart of such a profound cause.
Tell us about your level of environmental practices in your home, community etc?
I try to include green practice's in my daily routine as much as possible such as; composting fruit/veggie scraps for the garden, using re-usable green bags, substituting plastic items for re-usable goods, shopping at second-hand shops and walking/cycling where possible.
Why do you think it's important to be environmentally friendly today?
The health of our earth depends on environmentally friendly practices. Ultimately, by looking after the longevity of the environment, we are just safeguarding future generations.
Where did the inspiration come for the case you designed?
World Ocean day and the unique beauty of the Great Barrier Reef.
What is one thing you do in your life, that makes a positive impact on the environment?
My Illustration's almost always feature the beauty and fragility of our natural world. I hope to create awareness of the importance of our environment through my works.
What suggestion would you give to someone who wanted to live more 'green' but overwhelmed on how?
Start with small changes, like taking your own keep cup next time you get your morning coffee. I'am still in the process of making small changes!
