If you're interested in living a more eco-friendly life, we've rounded up 10 blogs that you should be reading!
These blogs are encouraging, helpful, and truly break eco-friendly living down in a friendly and approachable way.
1. Eco Cult
Eco Cult run by Alden Wicker is one of my favorite blogs to read. There's always a nice round up called weekend reading. I like to grab a cup of tea and read through the carefully curated articles.
The whole site is full of incredibly well researched posts, but that's probably just Alden's journalism background. She has bylines in Glamour, Quartz, Newsweek, Fast Company, Rodale’s Organic Life, Refinery29, and Racked.
The blog is full of think pieces like The Big Lie of Conscious Consumerism, and the eco inspo your brain needs like an update on her Sustainably Renovated Brooklyn Apartment.
Looking for the latest eco shopping guides and brands? Natalie Kay from Sustainably Chic has you covered!
She's a new mama and is just starting to include new content for eco, organic babies like this crib mattress.
I love the series Fair OOTD which puts a fun, ethical spin on the overly saturated #OOTD on Instagram. (Outfit of the Day)
3. StyleWise
StyleWise written by Leah Wise has a great mix of think pieces and amazing ethical fashion round ups. If you're looking for anything in particular, this is your go to site!
One of my favorite series she does is Brands Better Than. It's a series where she takes unethical clothing brands like Anthropologie, Free People, and J Crew and offers ethical brand alternatives that create similar style clothing without using slave labor and shady environmental practices.
4. Litterless
If you're a reader of our Sustainability Saturday emails you will be no stranger to one of my favorite bloggers Celia from Litterless.
This blog is all about simplicity and slow living. Celia's posts aren't long reads. They're short snippets looking into her oh, so dreamy, zero waste life.
One of my favorite series that Celia runs is Nothing New. Many times becoming more eco-friendly is viewed as more expensive.
Many of us living more eco-friendly lives would beg to differ. So many swaps save a ton of money in the long run, but not everyone can afford the up front cost of a quality item.
This is where the Nothing New series comes into play. It's all about using what you have to reduce waste and live a more eco-friendly life without having to spend anything upfront!
I might be a little biased but I think that Going Zero Waste is a great resource for anyone looking to reduce their waste and leave a positive impact on the environment!
The motto of the blog is, "It's not about perfection; it's about making better choices" encouraging everyone to take the plunge and go for it. Any change big or small has a positive impact!
Of course, I also write the blog Going Zero Waste, so I'll just leave you with a few of my favorite posts so you can decide for yourself.
How to Address Businesses about Their Packaging, 31 Day Zero Waste Challenge, 101 Easy Eco Friendly Swaps
This isn't exactly a blog... it's a podcast. And, who doesn't love podcasts!? It's so nice to be able to listen to something while cooking, driving, or going on a long walk.
Meghann Percy is your host and just a joy to listen to. She answers all of your burning questions like...
"What is a Zero Waster and why are they so obsessed with mason jars?
Can something be good for the environment + save me money?
How can anything I do make a difference? I’m just one person…"
Some of my favorite episodes have been Water Conservation, Stop Wasting Food, and Cultural Appropriation and Sustainability feat. Francesca Willow from Ethical Unicorn which leads me to...
Francesca who runs Ethical Unicorn produces some amazing think pieces. They are so well researched. I always stumble away from her blog needing to drink a cup of tea and spend at least 15 minutes with my thoughts.
See her posts on chocolate and coffee - and DO NOT DRINK A MOCHA WHILE READING.
She has an amazing beginners guide where she talks about human rights, zero waste, animal cruelty, non-toxic, carbon footprints, minimalism, fashion, beauty, food, etc and how everything ties together. Read More Here.
