Earth Month is here - it’s time for you to celebrate! As the World's First Compostable Phone Case, we dedicated April to celebrating our earth all month long. Who are we kidding? We really do this all year long, but this Earth Month, we took a moment to highlight our big, hairy, audacious goal to keep 1 billion pounds of plastic from ever being created. This is the time to reflect on the impact we have made and to equip ourselves with the tools and resources to make a difference. The Collection
The Earth Month Collection includes 4 designs dedicated to our earth to celebrate and show gratitude for all that it does for us. These Pela cases serve as a daily reminder of how our small actions can create a big impact for our planet. We collaborated with digital illustrator and activist Kika MacFarlane. Kika’s designs for our Earth Month Collection include Salmon River, Pink Peaks, and, Love our Planet which was inspired by a deep connection to nature and a desire to keep places wild.
Kika uses her digital illustration as a tool for social change which highlights the intersection of climate justice and social justice. In our interview with Kika she expressed, “as an avid skier, climber, and hiker, I’m also well aware of how exclusive and non-diverse the outdoor space can be. I’m very passionate about finding ways to make the outdoors more inclusive and tearing down some of those walls for others.” You can read more about Kika in our Behind the Artist blog feature.

Charity
With the launch of every collection, we have a charitable component through our partnership with 1% for the Planet. For Earth Month we collaborated with not just one but two charities in April. Our first charitable initiative this month was with Take 3, where YOU helped us pickup 125,000 (yes I said thousand) pieces of plastic from our waste streams by simply sharing our post. Next, we collaborated with our friends Tentree to plant ten trees for every case sold April 8th-14th, where YOU helped us plant 92,410 trees!!!
